A weekly video reading of poetry by the poet.
Why?
by Yolanda Coulaz
If black of night can turn to morning blue,
And sunlight can create another day,
Why can’t I borrow time to give to you?
Why can’t I find a way to make things new,
Erase the tears, and take your pain away,
If black of night can turn to morning blue?
If dust of day gives way to evening dew,
And God hears every word that people say,
Why can’t I borrow time to give to you?
Why is there nothing more that they can do
And nothing left for us except to pray,
If black of night can turn to morning blue?
If sparrows dare to soar where eagles flew,
And sky can birth a rainbow from the grey,
Why can’t I borrow time to give to you?
If seedlings can survive where wild winds blew,
And grass grows green where children often play,
If black of night can turn to morning blue,
Why can’t I borrow time to give to you?
