When Milton Freedman Comes Back to Earth
by Tom Karlson
No bed to sleep on or
Food to eat
Only corn fed gas and
Kentucky fried chicken
The University of Chicago maniac
Has fled the mausoleum
The pope ignores war, pedophilia
Employs 3 card Monty playing priests
Where four hundred years before
Uncounted indigenous
Eagerly awaited Christ, Christianity, and the funeral pyre
What can we say
What can we do
Our Nike clothed mercenaries
Our cardboard bedded vets
Our fast food paupers
Who shoots the innocent and sells his corpse
Who evicts the ghost- photographs her offspring
Forecloses the school and sells the bricks
Empties the pots and pans, turns food into fuel
Levels the 9th ward
Peddles luxury boxes to witness tsunami and earthquake
Who invades the university
Meds at home
Weeps when the lights go out
Look to the south
No ghouls in khaki
No red white and blue
Only a ring of fire as
They
Give Satan the heave-ho
home
