A weekly video reading of poetry by the poet.
Laying Low
by Star Black
The dandelions of Summer Street
in an over-familiar town, lift to an inviolate lake
undistracted by the clapboarded ground.
There, a chubby boy with a removable neck tattoo
offers up a blueberry, above a black poodle.
If evil's ever absent, lost in an annal,
behind a July of butterflies
above a rubber sandal,
let it be
gone from the sand
at an unfashionable lakefront
above a boy's open hand.
