Oh lord, my God…!
People I beg of you
For fifteen minuets tonight
Turn off the TV
Stop talking of the trivial
And read a poem
I’m not saying
It has to be mine
Just a poem
Any poem from any book
Tune out for a while
As the hum of plasma subsides
As darkness over comes It’s face
Tune out of the pointless
Tune out lunch room water cooler banter
Tune out of the road rage
Tune out and read a poem
Then, I dare say
Then discuss it
At least with your self
amen
Re illuminated
Light speed flicker
Power button pressed
Returned to reality
Filled with
Visions
Of the World
