Sarah Maclay is the author of two full-length collections of poetry: The White Bride (U of Tampa 2008), and Whore (U of Tampa, 2004) for which she won the 2003 Tampa Review Prize in Poetry. She is also the author of three limited edition chapbooks, Ice from the Belly (FarStarFire), Shadow of Light (Inevitable) and Weeding the Duchess (Black Stone), as well as Fugue States Coming Down the Hall, which was anthologized in Richard Kostelanetz’s Scenarios: Scripts to Perform.

Sarah's poems, essays, and reviews have been published widely, appearing in such spots as APR, FIELD, Ploughshares, and the Writer’s Chronicle, and have been selected as a 2008 Verse Daily Webmonthly Feature, anthologized in The Best American Erotic Poems: 1800 to the Present, and honored with a Special Mention in Pushcart Prize XXXI. She currently lives in Venice, California, teaching creative writing and literature at Loyola Marymount University, where she is a member of the English faculty, as well as serving as book review editor for Poetry International and artistic director of The Third Area: Poetry at Pharmaka.
