Lauren O’Brien has always been full of more emotions than her body could contain. So - to keep from exploding everything around her - she starting writing little stories, yelling a lot, and generally making stuff up. Fascinated with words and completely enamoured with all kinds of music (& musicians), Lauren’s pretty ecstatic this new rock project. She’s been frantically writing about the political, spiritual & personal things that take hold of her and keep her up at night, then collaborating with awesome musicians to create some really hot tracks. Her first album “on my way to the tower...” is gonna be coming out real soon, so stay on the edge of your seat. In the meantime, she’s been fascinating crowds around NY with her constantly evolving rock poetry show. Just so ya know, she’s been co-writing with with Gary Pickard, Sal Chisari & Thaddeus Wellenc. Lauren has also collaborated and performed with other great musicians, including: Glenn Grossman, Janice Robinson (Warner Bros), and Mark Godwin (Godwin Music). If Lauren happens to create some cool stuff, its cuz of her great teachers. Especially her mentor in life and art, Daisku Ikeda. And if her eyes seem bright, its cuz she’s watching him. Lauren also learned so much about creativity from the great director Polina Klimovitskaya, who she worked with as a member of Terra Incognita.
Lauren is an ethical vegetarian, human & animal rights advocate, and passionate Buddhist. She joyfully spends much of her time doing peace-building work with the SGI, a lay Buddhist Organization for peace, culture and education. She is also a member of ICAP (International Committee of Artists for Peace).
