Welcome to poetryvlog.com
A weekly video reading of poetry by the poet.

Lorraine Conlin is a US Customs’ Broker at Kennedy Airport, and a National Park Service volunteer in her spare time. Writing is her Prozac! Her work has been published in several chapbooks, newsletters, The North Shore Women’s Newspaper, Performance Poets Literary Reviews, Long Island Expressions, For Loving and Precious Beast, Long Island Sounds: 2007 An Anthology of Poetry and Long Island Soundings. She has won, placed, and received awards in several contests on the island.

Lorraine is a member of the Long Island Poetry Collective, Performance Poets, Farmingdale Creative Writers and Poets, the North Sea Poetry Scene and The Long Island Writers Guild. She hosts “Tuesdays with Poetry” for Poets in Nassau. Readings have taken her from New York City to the East End of Long Island and across the Sound to Connecticut. She is the initiator of The Long Island Poets for Darfur and is currently working on publishing a “commemorative program/anthology” after a November event. “Poetry gives voice to those who cannot speak for themselves”, she says and hopes that a poetry book will raise awareness and funds to SAVE DARFUR.

Lorraine lives in Wantagh with her husband, son and two cats. She is a breast cancer survivor and a “student of life”. You can reach Lorraine at PoetryLorraine@aol.com or PoetforDarfur@aol.com.
