Israel Halpern is a writer who divides his remaining time between a working farm in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, and a working home medical-care office in Dix Hills, New York. During the last fifty years as a working poet and editor his peregrinations around the globe include Europe, Africa, Asia, and North America. His work appears in anthologies published by Northwestern Univ., BLOOD TO REMEMBER, WILD RIVER REVIEW, FRESHET, SCHUYKILL REVIEW, and various literary publications.
Israel hosts a cable tv show in New York City on QPTV entitled POETRYTV for the past 15 years. He teaches Creative Writing and Poetry at Riker’s Island, Bedford Hills Prison, as well as out in the forest, talking to himself.
