Evelyn Kandel, although trained as a visual artist, began to include her poems in her artwork and now concentrates only on writing. She is a member of Taproot with Maxwell Wheat, Poets’ Circle with Gladys Henderson and has taken workshops with George Wallace, Billy Collins and Christina Rau. Evelyn is a hostess and featured reader for Performance Poets Association, and has won various awards. She has been published in Lucidity, Long Island Quarterly, Performance Poets Association and Taproot Journals. A collection of seasonal poems appear in a chapbook: And So It Goes. Evelyn's poems are included in three anthologies published in 2007: Seasoned Women, Long Island Sounds 2007 and Primal Sanities.
