Bart Mallio wrote his first poem in third grade, where he learned the haiku form as part of classroom exercise; he has written poetry ever since. Abiding interests in the Modernist and Symbolist poets-- as well as traditional Asian poetic forms -- led to a double-degree in English Literature and Asian Studies. This, in turn, led inexorably to a career in information technology (go figure). In addition to writing poetry, Bart's interests include studying tai chi chuan and playing the bass guitar. He makes
his home on Long Island with his wonderful wife and their very hungry cat.
