Andrea Rowen is a poet whose real-world poetry is informed by the wisdom traditions of both Mahayana Buddhism and the Torah. Mixing influences of the spiritual experience with the Deep Romanticism of Emerson and the Utter Wildness of Burroughs, Andrea brings an acute and wisdom eye to both the glorious and the despair of many subjects.
A Long Island native, Andrea's four years abroad have given her a world view that helps dissect the apparent into subtle realities - and then to render them into the refined gold of Poetry and Understanding. A member of the Poetry Café Community and the Performance Poets Association, she has published in the Long Island Quarterly and the Performance Poets Association's 2005 Literary Review.
