Arthur Dobrin is Professor of Humanities at Hofstra University and Leader Emeritus of the Ethical Humanist Society of Long Island. His is the author and editor of more than 20 books, including poetry, novels, short stories, children stories and work of non-fiction in the area of applied ethics.

He and his wife, Lyn, were Peace Corps volunteers in Kenya. They are the grandparents of three, MacKenzie, Ryan and Jordan. They have lived in Westbury, New York, for more than forty years.
